User involvement

Government policy has increasingly asserted that a key mechanism for empowering service users is to fully involve them in planning, delivery and evaluation of services.65

Some evaluation of crisis services have been undertaken but there is a paucity of published evidence that focuses on the service user experience or involves service users in as evaluators of them.

The Leeds Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (CRHT) has employed a service-user development worker within the team, whose role includes engaging with service users to support user-focussed evaluation of the service.
