These may be allocated to specific ‘clusters’ (groups) and therefore to specific pathways (the set of services received by a patient during their treatment).
Concentrate on the outcomes required from each pathway. Use those that relate to resilience (for instance recovery and wellbeing measures) as indicators of social return on investment (measures of environmental and social value) and use the amount of activity to measure levels of efficiency.
A good combination of productivity (output) and benefit to health and wellbeing (outcome) means that the commissioning is bringing about good value for money.
